I would like to do my English, Maths and Science GCSE's, although not all at once, one at a time.

It would be cheaper (alot) to do it at college but as I will soon be working shifts, I can't comit to a class the same time and day every week.

Has anyone here done gcse's using ICS or somwhere similar ??

If so how did you find it ??

my mate did a couple of A levels via this type of thing years ago. he found it a bit hard going at first as you have to be disciplined otherwise you keep putting it off and then run out of time. but he eventually did it and got 2 B's one in eng lit and the other in maths.

Thanks

Have just looked on the ICS community forum and there seems to be alot of posts from people complaining that they get sent alot of stuff but with no direction of where to start etc.

not a good start then huh?
I didn't do very well with my home study course on basic herbal medicine for this reason, little direction and structure (and a tutor telling me to dumb down my answers or she would have to mark me down????) but I have completed a full medical herbal degree at home which was very well structured and was idiot proof really (good thing too!)
are there any other home study places you can look into as it is a big discipline studying at home and if the course is not up to it, you will struggle and probably be put off doing it?

One thing to watch out for is that you have to register to take the exam at a local centre - any many schools don't take external candidates because the marks get added to their league table results. Might be worth checking that before you commit to anything!

Hey!

I did two a levels with ICS and it worked out really well. The layout of work etc is fine but the hard bit is having to organise the exams for yourself.

Its not impossible just very difficult although it didnt help that the local school where i took my exams had a very difficult, unhelpful exams office secretary!!

Anyway it all worked out ok as im at uni now. Give it a try, if you have the dedication(and organisation) you will do fine.

I want to find a GCSE in geography that is 100% exam to prove that i can pass it with absolutely no work / revision at all just based on adult general knowledge.

I would also quite like to do an AS/A2 general studies too.
