Just sitting bored and started thinking of all the things I wish I'd do differently if I were to do it all again!

1.I would atleast try breastfeeding

2.I wouldnt spend so bloody much on a big fancy pram

3.I wouldnt give a dummy

4.Id have used real nappies

Well thats my main things what about you? Abit random I know but heyho...

I would have insisted on the "planned" cs but other than that it has all gone pretty well. I maybe wouldn't have spoilt dd quite so much.

LaDiDaDi · 22/10/2008 22:10

Try harder at bf.

Care less about other people.

mummatoone · 22/10/2008 22:12

Leave to cry and make sure they have an afternoon sleep whether they want it or not. Ditto the Pram, Im stuck with an all singing or dancing Mutsy that cost over £600!!!!

If I had a third (highly unlikely) I would co-sleep for at least the first 6 months without feeling guilty/making rod .......
Would buy a good sling and use it constantly.

HRHSaintMamazon · 22/10/2008 22:14

try and breastfeed.
use real nappies.
not bother buying a pram
give him/her whatever name i wanted and not care what anyone else thought

hester · 22/10/2008 22:14

I would co-sleep.

I would buy a rear-facing pram with full recline - can't believe I prioritised value for money over my dd's comfort

I would get a proper-fitting sling.

I wouldn't have visitors for the first two weeks.

I would organise more social activities to keep myself sane.

I wouldn't bother with so many outfits and pointless toys. Waste of ruddy money.

saadia · 22/10/2008 22:17

I would try to be more relaxed less stressed less anxious about feeding and would remember to enjoy every stage.

beansmum · 22/10/2008 22:24

choose a better father

get a pushchair that can be used from birth

chuck them out of my bed a bit earlier, maybe make 4 the cut off date?

Acinonyx · 22/10/2008 22:32

Elective cs (as promised if there was ever another).

Get a good sling and use it.

Buy a better changing bag. If I'd realised I would be carrying this bag every day for 3 years I'd have got something snazzier and/or more useful.

Get a better light-wieght pushchair. I got the cheapest umbrella pushchair going and it was very hard to manouvre - but got a good heavy-weight travel system that got relatively little use.

mamadiva · 22/10/2008 22:35

Ooh yeah and Id try the sling thing.

Use real nappies

Home Birth, despite what OH says/thinks

Into own room days after

Wing it and not use the BabyCentre's website as the Bible

cory · 22/10/2008 23:43

There won't be a next dc. But if there was:

I would not sacrifice my own health in order to be able to breastfeed but would stay on medication that was good for me and let baby feed out of a bottle

I would give a dummy from birth (finger-sucking in an 11yo really not an attractive trait)

I would never again take anyone's word, however high-ranking in the medical world, that everything was all right with my dc when I could see that it wasn't

justgotbfp · 23/10/2008 08:58

would like to have vbac for this baby...active birth and pool so very different to ds.

would stand up for my inner voice more in the face of experts

will try to see things in positive lights

CharCharBaGOOOOOOORE · 23/10/2008 09:06

Have a homebirth

Use a sling from birth rather than 3 months as with dd

Relax more

Use real nappies

Ignore other people more
