should I put dd back in to pull-up nappies? She's been dry for over three months,...

including being dry through the night, but she ONLY poos in her knickers. She has started nursery 2 afternoons a week, and the staff are fine about it, but they must get hacked off, she nearly always does at least one poo when she's there, which isn't nice for them to have to deal with, it's not like changing a nappy!
Also for the last three days she has been having wee accidents, she won't go to the toilet when I ask her, but has an accident quite soon after being asked.
Is this a small regression prior to the whole lot being sorted out? Would putting her back in pull-ups be a huge mistake??
HELP!
She's nealry 3 btw

Minky, if were you, i would see if you could sit it out and see if it is a phase, rather than go back to pull ups. my dd went through a phase of weeing in the floor every evening after having been dry in the daytime - it lasted about a week and then she stopped it, possibly because she got very little reaction from me, or maybe because she was then unwell and got better. this was also after i had asked her, so i eventually started just distracting her and taking her to the loo anyway.
not sure what to advise about the pooing, but hopefully, she'll get it soon. have you tried a sticker or rewards chart or anything, just for poos? that's how we got dd to use the loo - a sticker every morning when she did a poo then a reward of some new knickers and vests of her choice! it worked! good luck!

I have found that asking "do you need a wee?" always gets the answer no. I don't know about you, but I never realise I need to wee until DH goes into the bathroom for A Long Session. As soon as I hear the door close, I go "OH WAIT I NEED TO WEE! and DH gets angry at me for Doing It Again. I think it's a bit the same with toddlers. What works well is I say "let's go and make a wee" and if he says no, I say "I bet Teddy needs a wee" and he takes Teddy, holds him over the toilet going "pshwshpshwsh" and then goes "Johnny wee wee" and asks to have a wee himself.

I am having a very similar problem. My little girl was trained in July and August and was soooo perfect at going to the toilet or on the potty, then in September she started wetting herself A LOT! I sat it out for several weeks, but reacted quite badly, over reacting etc, then we all got unwell and I put her back in pull ups - now I really wish I hadn't, she just uses them as a nappy and in fact calls them nappies. We have totally regressed and I am so cross with myself as I now have to start the whole process over! .

So I guess my advice is sit it out and try to be patient!

Does anyone have advice for me, she will be 3 in December and I think a part of me is worried that family and friends think she is too old for this.

I wouldn't put her back in nappies at this sort of endorses the 'accidents' if you get me.

Def. agree with ches. 'Do you need a wee?' always gets 'No' from DS1 (3 and a bit), but if i say 'Just come with me a moment' and lead him to the bathroom, no fussing, and he nearly always has a wee.

For a long while he was dry but not clean. Apparently it takes longer for children to realise they need a poo than it does to need a wee. Uses totally different muscles and often takes them longer. So they often genuinely don't know when they need a poo.

It will come eventually. Does she admit straight away when she's done a poo in her knickers? I really encouraged DS1 to tell me this, as it did help to avoid really horrible mess!

We are just going through something similar, although my DD wasn't dry as long as yours. a couple of days ago I had the pull up at the ready out of sheer frustration on my part.

Just to give you alittle bit of hope, today we have had a dry and clean day. DD did the pooing in her knickers too, she would do half in knickers and half in potty for ages. Then we started getting loads of wee accidents, but she started gradually getting the poos on target. Today she has got them both spot on so I'm wondering if the weeing slipped abit whilst she worked out pooing

I'm also all for the not asking "do you need a wee", I say "Right, potty or toilet?" or pingu has a wee first.
