to everyone on here would you say your style is ap? and do you think its working for you?

ShowOfHands · 16/10/2008 19:31

Yes, ap.

DD is 17months, happy, thriving, content, sociable, confident and the most wonderful thing I've ever made.

It works for me, her and dh. It has to work for all of us or it would have to change.

Am still BFing and co-sleeping.

Sears- very good on all aspects of the first few years. DH & I really liked it- didn't even know anything about ap, or buy it for that reason- just was a really good book with sound advice!

bohemianbint · 16/10/2008 19:36

without sounding impertinent, how does sex work if you have a DC in the bed? We seem to have ended up co-sleeping without fully thinking it through. And what age do you think you will put your dc in their own bed/room?

You have to get creative. We sneak off into another room while she's asleep generally.

DD has a bed in her room which she sometimes sleeps in. She's just got to the age where she has decided she wants to be a bit independence and she takes herself off. We go in for cuddles and stories obviously. ATM I prefer her to sleep with us as it's soooo cold in the middle of the night that if she's in her room, she wakes up and needs a cuddle anyway. I might put her bed in our room actually as we have a little oil heater in there so it might be a solution for now. Everything I read said that at dd's age she would start to want her own bed and self-settle more and you know what, it's true.
