I hope someone can help.

I use various different nappies my favourites being tots bots and ellas house bumhuggers. I have nappy nations wraps size 3 velcro fastening, motherease wraps popper fastening, plastic pants from boots, and each one of them leaks even if i change at him midnight. with the popper fastening ones they seem to leak down the sides in between the poppers if this makes sense. The velcro fastening ones leak round the legs. they are neither too tight nor too lose so I am at a loss.

Can anyone help?? I am fed up having to wash sheets everyday.

oh i also have tots bots wraps and cotton bottoms all bought to see if they would change what was happening, the only thing that did was a knitted soaker but he has grown out of it now.

If your airflow (motherease popper) wraps are leaking between the poppers then its very likely to be due to the nappy underneath it not being absorbant enough for the amount of liquid being produced! Is the nappy absolutely soaking when you take it off? Are you using any boosters?

The other possibility is that something has happened to the PUL in the wraps (although from your description of where the leaks are coming from that is less likely). Have they been tumble dried a lot or near any near any essential oils?

I like your chatname btw - my DDs have Arwen and Luthien as their middle names (although Luthien is often used as a first name)

CarGirl · 15/10/2008 14:31

I had a really heavy wetting dd in the end I used a disposable at night, it helped with her excema as well too.

I would try and extra booster between the outside of the nappy and the wrap (you may have to go up a wrap size to do this)

I take there are no night feeds anymore?

Sympathy from me.

The last few nights DS2's minki huggle and motherease XP wrap combo have leaked. Very annoying.

mumof2222222222222222boys · 15/10/2008 14:53

With DS1 I happily used reusables (Bambino Mio) during the day, but because of the volume of widdle I used disposables at night. for the environment, but I am afraid that life is too short.

BBMIHH,
His nappies are always soaking when he wakes in the morning and i mean soakeddddddd lol You could swim in the amount there...not that I would want to mind. I don't use a booster I just use a fleece liner inside the nappy.

I did tuble dry the wraps once but that was only a couple of them and they are all fine through the day.

Cargirl I have to hang my head in shame as he has recently started waking in the night for a feed. He used to sleep through until we moved 2 months ago and since he has woken every night bar 1. So yes night feeds are happening at the moment.

Mumof2222222222222222boys (hope i got enough 2's there lol) Disposables really iritate his skin regardless of which I use. So they are not an option.
I ca

If he's feeding in the night then yes you may have to change him during the night. It sounds like you next extra absorbancy in there, a couple of hemp boosters would be a good start.

Theladyevenstar · 15/10/2008 18:19

cargirl thanks for that, anyone know where i can get some without breaking the bank??? lol funds are tight at the moment.

Once you are suitably boosted I think you'll find the airflows will do the job - no reason not to go 'window shopping' for wool though

There is also bumfluff classifieds andthe nappy site amongst others for 2nd hand sales

MrsJamin · 15/10/2008 20:06

If wool frightens you, try a couche cover from puddlepants - they're only a tenner delivered, have adjustable poppers so fit for ages, and come in lovely colours. Once you've lanolised a few times you don't need to do it very often.

Theladyevenstar · 15/10/2008 20:27

I love wool its just the wait for someone to knit some soakers for me as I am usless at knitting. lol

i highly highly recommend these they are fabulous once lanolised and because they are stretchy and cover from waist to knee, theyll cover any night nappy, no matter how well boosted.
my personal night nappy combo that worked for a heavy wetting 15m+ old was motherease sandys in bamboo with 2 of the 'liner's they sell (same stuff; ME bamboo liner/boosters) and the larger part of [[http://bumfluffnappies.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=39this microfibre insert, topped with a fleece liner next to skin, and all wrapped up in a pair of woolly shorties.
