They used to have them online. I bought some Kushies Diaper Basics from them about 8 years ago!

Tescos stock kushies, I have bought them in the past from tescos, or at least they did a couple of years ago - maybe they have stopped!

They sold kushies until very recently....

I have never seen washables in sainsburys and ours is mahoosive?

Haven't waitrose given up and put all their motherease in the sale? There was a thread about it recently.

Sorry if I am wrong.

Personally I am not sure if supermarkets should stock washables, big stores tend to go for brands like bambinio mio or ctton bottoms (as was), and as pre-folds are not the best at coping with new born poo (though great later on) I think this is why lots of people give up and decide that cloth is rubbish.

I do think there needs to be an increase in awareness though.

I don't think it helps that a lot of supermarkets are jumping on the 'eco-disposable' bandwagon, as people then think they are doing their bit, when really, as regards to landfill, they are no better.

No washables in my local huge Sainsburys just now - was hoping to find disposable liners but no luck. but curiously everywhere seems to sell stuff for soaking nappies in - why soak but no actal nappies??

There is so much choice though - how would they know what to stock because everyone has different needs and wants. Say, for example you knew you wanted to buy some totsbots - you have a choice of organic, normal, bamboozles, flexitots and then (ignoring the flexitot) you have a choice of colours and fastenings on top of that plus you're likely to be buying a fair few. To offer a decent range that you could just go in and buy they would have to hold loads of stock.

I guess they could keep samples in store and then sell online only but then they would probably undercut all the independant retailers and I don't think that would be a good move at all. Mr Tesco is unlikely to know (or care) about the difference between a bumble and a bambeasy but your independant retailer will and should be able to help you make the right choice for you.

IME far too many people have been put off cloth by buying Bambino Mio, Boots Own, Kushies and Weenees because that is what they saw in the shops and thought would be their best option (after all Kushies all in one do sound fab in theory no?). A far better way to encourage people to use cloth would be to have knowledgeable advisors doing demonstrations at ante-natal classes and telling people where to find the decent nappies!

Sorry....mild rant over
