but don't your lo's get used to nappying in the car and buggy, with all the movement.. or do they nap ok also, by just putting them down in the cot?

mine naps in all 3 because he is used to napping in a mixture of all 3. sometimes at home he likes to sleep in his buggy or on the sofa instead of his cot. it doesn't bother me.

dd did get used to napping in the car and we did go through a long stage where she wouldn't nap anywhere else (although I could get her out of the car once she was thoroughly asleep). Dh did comment on the petrol bills during this phase. But mainly I just arranged to be going somewhere in the car when she needed to nap. It wouldn't suit everyone - but I decided I'd rather be free to come and go than have a baby that napped in its cot. (Napping and night sleep are regulated differently, thankfully.) I absolutely cannot be tied to the house all day and as I'm sure you are finding - the rest of the world doesn't schedule itself around your baby's naps.

My other reasoning was that they don't nap forever so it's not a life-long problem.

I know! I only have 3 months maternity leave left, and I really should take myself out of this rut of being tied to a schedule!

go for it. i started taking ds to a toddler group which was 9-11. up until we started going he was rigidily stuck into a routine of napping at 10am. after 2 weeks he started waiting til the walk home. babies will often acommodate themselves to fit around you!

Just wanted to revive this thread and ask how you getting on Peanutbutterjelly im in the same position. I've got myself into a total rut, not left the house since sunday, apart from quick dash to the shops yesterday. I know this is riddiculous.

My dd stayed with grandma on sat night and had no real naps on sunday, she was then a nightmare to settle. Poor thing she was exhausted. Tried to go out for lunch couple of times last week but she was quite grouchy.

I have now convinced myself I need to get a grip on her naps but now im literally stuck at home, was quite down for a while after I had dd and i can feel the black clouds looming. Someone give me a kick up the arse please!!!!!!
