How to get wee out of a sofa

My DD1 (3.5) isn't well - just a cold, nothing serious. Anyway she fell asleep on the sofa today. she was so deeply asleep that she wet herself (and the sofa) quite extensively.

She was obviously upset and we calmed her down and made very little of it.

The sofa, sadly, is SOAKED. The covers can be dry cleaned but I was wondering what tips anyone has for getting wee out of upholstery. It's gone through the cushion and into the main body of the sofa at the point where the arn, back ans seat meet.

Help?

I was kind of wondering about something similar as the kitten crapped on our bed last night! Obviously the duvet and sheets etc are in the washing machine.....

I could get DD to wee on it. That might neutralize it. Or something.

ok this is what you do - mix a half and half mixture of sudsy water and white (distilled vinegar) and sponge / scrub the area. Put a clean towel over it and weigh is down as best you can (using books etc) to soak up the moisture. Replace with another clean towel once that one is wet. repeat as necessary. The area will then be clean and deodorised. You can also sprinkle bicarb of soda on the area, leave overnight and hoover up the next day.
