I shut mine in the bedroom this morning, they were following me around like dogs on a lead, both whining

It's AMAZING how well they play when told to get on with it... dd1 spent 45mins dressing various teddies in dolls' clothing, dd2 pottering alongside

Why do they follow you around? They know it drives you crazy but they still do it!

willali · 06/08/2008 14:16

The point is there is LOADS TO DO but they can't / won't use their brain and imaginations and look in the cupboards for the millions of toys and games and activities that have never seen the light of day since they got them or even just READ A BLOODY BOOK FGS....

I often say "not interested" and "you are both as bad as each other" in relation to arguments and fights - this is in the handbook, No?

What have I done that they expect to be entertained all the time??

I always used to be shocked/horrified by mummies who block-booked the entire summer holiday with activities so they never had to entertain their children. I felt so smug with our unplanned fun and spontaneous picnics on sunny days. Now with 5yo twin boys who love/hate each other and a 10mo baby I am now seeing the light!!! Summer 2009 shall be block-booked 6 months in advance .
