12 is fine. I get tired of people putting their 2yos on the phone to "talk" to me. I think the parents think it's cute.

dd1 will arrange things with her mate on the phone, ask me and I say I want to talk to mate's mum.

She will give me the phone where mate is still hanging on. I say I need to talk to mate's mum.

Mate says "she's not here"

WHY Has dd1 given me the farking phone then? Why can't she just say to mate - Ring me back when your mum's around so mine can talk to her...

Good lord the twins would look at me as if i was crazy and probably satrt burping down the phone or put on odd disguised voice to 'fox' the adult. Such is their humour level

I like speaking to 2 year olds on the phone. And my DD (2.7) is very good with the phone - she phones nanny & grandad every morning.

And, I think it is OK for a child to be allowed to phone and invite a friend, as long as Mum or Dad is in the background.

I hate it when parents do that and I refuse to make arrangements like that. I talk to the parents. Blimey even DS1(15.5) checks with me when making plans. Algernon's stepdad needs a kick!

iCod - completely off topic but

If you want to avoid licencing laws and you want to make a profit ycan't you sell bags of crisps (or something small) for say £1.50 or £2.00 or whatever and give a glass of pimms/alcohol away with the purchase.

That way you set a price but you aren't actually selliong the alcohol, it just comes free with the vastly overpriced piece of tat you you have picked up from the cash and carry.

So for example at at christmas you sell the mince pie and give the glass of wine free with it but the price of the mince pie is calculated to cover the cots of both and to make a profit.
