Do you ever feel like getting up and walking out?

For a few hours anyway? At the moment I could quite happily walk out the door and leave my dh and the kids to get on with it. Or am I just especially horrible?

(and GeorginaA, I've never heard of Playtown)

Well once we're all chickenpox free, SoupDragon, fancy a trip there (and sb24 and any other Croydonite mumsnetters)? It's in the Grants building (cinema), 2nd floor in the centre of town. From memory I think it's around £2.75 for under 2s... under 4s was quite a bit more expensive though (£4 I think). Probably cost prohibitive from too many trips if you have more than one child but might be nice for a change

sb34, you'll feel better about this tomorrow...

You'll feel better about this tomorrow

Poor you - you must have felt really disheartened to have put all that effort in and no-one noticed! That's the problem with housework, isn't it? No-one notices when it's looking good!

Make it Weds pm and it's a deal Anyway I can get your email addy to arrange meet up?

SoupDragon · 29/01/2003 08:07

SB34 - I had the "this house is a mess, I don't know what you do all day" fight on Monday!! He didn't notice all the things I had done, obviously, just the things I hadn't. AAAGGGHHH! Every time I start to feel good about myself, he manages to give me a swift kick in the confidence. Sigh. Obviously yesterday I messed about with osteopath appointments, a hair cut and some retail therapy rather than any form of housework - hehehe.

I can't manage Wednesday pm by the way but might be able to sneak in a Wednesday am or all day Thursday.

And SB34, is this Very Ex-Friend the same as my Very Ex Friend by any chance?? If so, you may find it amusing to know that HO are looking into that gym membership deal thingy - you know what I mean!

GeorginaA · 29/01/2003 11:26

Argh! Thursday is a no no as ds is at nursery that day... Friday?!

GeorginaA · 29/01/2003 11:34

Ah... scratch Friday - supposed to be travelling to my mothers!!! LOL... exchange of emails to arrange a date perhaps?

Oxo - you just reminded me of my life a couple of years ago (pre prozac). I have 2 DC nw aged 4 and 3 but when they were just 2 and 6months respectively I think I had a breakdown. I had mashed/pureed/cooked/cleaned etc for most of the afternoon to make a healthy meal for them and they both literally spat it back in my face. I got the red mist and (apparently as I have little memory of this) smashed up all their toys. I remember laying on the floor crying and pullng at my hair (like arthur fowler on eastenders when he went mad!). I scared myself and the kids. I was so tired and sick of it all at the time, I just let it carry on for another year and then decided I was not getting better and went and got some prozac. Have been on it a year and a combinaion of that and full time school for DD (4) and some childcare for DS (3) has restored my sanity. What a nightmare few years!
