I really don't like Dd1 at times, does this make me a terrible mother?

I adore all my kids, but Dd1 is very trying. She has CP and ADHD, and everything is a battle with her. Just getting her to get dressed and fed in the morning is a struggle. She screams and shouts at everyone, she has no volume control. She beats up Ds1 and Dd2, and losts control of herself so often. Sometimes I wish I never had her The others miss out on treats because of her behaviour. I don't like feeling like this about one of my children.

I know that feeling, the one of feeling that I am always moaning or getting at her about something..

Same here, SGK! Sounds like you are a perfectly normal mum to me!

Nobody can prepare you for how stressful bringing up children actually is, and when they have some kind of SN it is that much harder. Sounds like you are a great mum & probably moan & shout a lot less than I have been this last couple of weeks!!

You would be surprised. Today I had to manhandle her into the kitchen to get her breakfast, and pysically lift her onto the chair, she is a tall 8 year old and I am a small 5ft, so not easy to do. I said to DH afterwards that I wish I didn't have her Dh knows I love her, but he knows that she is hard work...

It sounds very hard.

The other week I really lost it with DS1 & grabbed him by both arms quite forcefully & kind of swung him round to me. He grinned in response & said "Do that again, it was fun!"

I don't often lose it quite that badly, but there are times when you can only take so much.

SGK, i am amazed that you can admit you sometimes wish you didn't have DD to your DH. I have confessed quite a bit to DH but i haven't gone as far as admitting i sometimes wished it was just me and DS (which is what i do wish for sometimes ). I think he would be very shocked........maybe i should give it a go

Trouble is when i have either DS or DD they are both angels, it's when they're together that all hell breaks loose. It must be the vying for attention that drives them.

oneplusone, because of the kids disablilities, we both are at home with them, so DH knows just what she is like.
