Nursery visit dilemma

Your experience please ...

DD2 is 2y 11m She's suddenly expressing the desire to go without nappies. I'm convinced she's physically capable of training - has been for ages, but hasn't been willing to co-operate. Now she is.

This is day four. Some accidents every day, but she can always produce something when she gets on the loo and two out of four poos have been in the loo. So I feel we are getting there, but have a bit of work to do.

The dilemma is - she's going for an introductory session at Nursery tommorrow. All morning. And I'm not supposed to stay with her.

If it was anything else, I'd keep her in big girls' pants and watch her like a hawk. But I think it's a lot to ask of the Nursery and she's going to have enough to deal with without worrying about the loo.

So just how much am I going to set her back if she goes into pull-ups, just for the morning???

I pt'd dd1 while she was at nursery two afternoons a week and they agreed with me when I turned up with her in big girl knickers that its best to carry on as you have started than go back to nappies and were more than happy to deal with her accidents. I'm sure most nurseries are willing to help with PTing so its worth asking if its ok.
The first week was the hardest but after that I was glad we did it, just make sure you pack loads of knickers & clothes and she should be fine.

I'd ask the nursery. My guess is that they might want you to stay with her until she has been to the loo

Don't put her in pullups.

Speak to the nursery though - they will want her to be comfortable enough to ask them to take her to the toilet, so perhaps they will just ask her every ten minutes if she needs to go - or maybe they will want you to stay for a while.

I would arrive with a bag of spares, tell them she has just started training, get them to make a big deal of showing her where the toilets are etc (or if you get to stay for 10 mins you do it). I think it's best to start as you mean to carry on. The nursery are used to coping with accidents don't worry.

Thanks all

I think I'll take her along in big girl pants, with spare clothes and pullups in a bag, so I can take their advice when I get there. Hopefully they'll be up for the challenge.
