ready for when she has her 1st baby in October. I used terry squares folded and put in nappy wrap secured with velcro. I really liked these, but want to buy something a bit modern and funky for her. I don't know which type is best, and not too difficult for her to get to grips with. Should I go for "all in ones" or "pocket type" etc.
Any advice much appreciated.
Also, which is the best place to buy them?

there are a few of us mumsnetters who have cloth nappy sites and advertise on the classifieds follow this link . Nappyzone (me) and Bumfluff - worth getting in touch with either of us as we are more than happy to give free advise with no obligation as we love talking poo lol!

oooh, if it's for a gift, bumfluff has fabulous nappy bouquets on her site!

(i use totsbots and motherease wraps and like them a lot!)

does she want to use cloth?
What about a voucher to a nappy store - I think nappy preference would be quite personal tbh

Yes, she mentioned wanting to try cloth nappies. So I thought it would be nice to start her off with a selection, so she can choose the one's that suit best.

for a newborn, I would look at:

Motherease Sandy's Extra Small
Lollipop Softee
Bambino Mio (prefold, but works great!)
Kissaluvs

All of the above need wraps.

Would birth to potty size be suitable or is it better to go for different sizes??

Personally, I would go for different sizes.

Both DD and DS have super skinny legs and the one size just didn't fit. some people love the one size as it's really economical and practical, but they can look huge on a newborn

I'd get something really cute for a newborn...
