Hi Knickers.
Biggest pros are:
Soooooo much cheaper, savings depend on style you use.
Also, can't run out as long as you keep up with washing - great for when kids are ill or shops are shut, I always used to run out on a Sunday!!
Environmental - less rubbish in your bin, no more smelly rubbish bags, also less waste to landfill.
IMO more absorbant.
No chemicals next to baby's skin

Cons:
Washing and drying in bad weather.
more bulky - fit better under stretchy clothes not so great under jeans etc...
Have to store and handle when dirty, not really a big deal but my dp is totally grossed out by the nappy bucket
OK for days out, but may be too much hard work for holidays!

Hope that helps

Hi Knickers - I've just replied to another thread of yours on nappies!

Another pro or two to add

much softer for a newborns bottom
fleece lined nappies keep bottoms softer than dispoasables
no need to drag 3 bags of nappies home from the shops (I always bought when they were on 3 for 2 with DD1)
better for a babys hips
soft landing pad when learning to walk
more to hold onto for mum and dad - my DCs seem to be very bony bummed when in disposables
you get a strange sense of satisfaction when hanging out your nappies to dry on the line (well I do anyway, sure I've heard others say the same)
They can be as easy to use as a disposable depending on what you choose to use
You can sell them on when you are finished with them
You can pick them up free on freecycle etc

Cons....

PITA to fit under some clothes - tight fitting jeans may be out unless you use a thin pocket nappy

I didn't find washing a chore tbh - my house is like a laundrette most days anyway I got a hanging thing with pegs on it and I dry my nappies on that on wet days. They take up very little drying space on one of those.

You need good advice to get the right ones for you but that is easy to come by
