wow littleboyblue,

kinda glad your not my babysitter lol.
Your post made me chuckle but know what you mean, its so easy to have accidents with them. Had to call 999 in December cos I stupidly left brake off pram and DS2 decided to take DS3 (12 WEEKS) for a walk. Unfortunatly I live on a hill and pram went straight of path and down hill. Pram turned over with baby in it. I flew over to find screaming baby, unmoved in pram(had snowsuit on) but he went really sleepy after 10 minutes and REALLY freaked out. Couldnt get him to wake, shot in car to take him to hospital, im sat in back with 2 other children shouting his name and gently rubbing him. Rang 999 to meet me at mums house 5 miles away (hospital is 20 miles away and couldnt wait). He was just out cold and I couldnt do anything for shaking, then I thought he would maybe stir if I removed snowsuit. Took snowsuit off about 2 mins from my mams house and my little cherub opened his eyes, and gave me the biggest smile ever. He hadnt felt me rubbimg him or trying to wake him because he was so padded up with clothes. Got out of the car at mams house and he was beaming, just as ambulance (complete with flashing lights) came round the corner. Felt a total plank but paramedics said he probably went straight to sleep through shock, he was fine and didnt need treatment but it was a big wake up call. Just a second with your back turned and they can cause chaos.

can'tseemyfeet, I'm an idiot aren't I! Just read my post back and I didn't actually drop him down the stairs, I dropped him at the bottom of the stairs.

You can let babies/children sleep after a fall but you need to be able to rouse them. Hope she is okay now, and you too.

I think this is the best thread I've ever read here. Helpful, reassuring, half smiles everywhere. Glad all well, you sound like a lovely mummy. x

I'm coming to this late, but haven't we all been there?

It seems so, so much worse at the time because of the sleep deprivation.

DS fell off the sofa, fell of his bouncy chair thing and probably other things I can't remember now.

Those early days are so hard, aren't they?
