I would think now she's poo'ed and calmed down, that that was the problem

Aw bless her. Her tummy will have some re-settling to do so she might just be feeling that still. I would certainly stay home + avoid a+e at all costs - esp on a saturday night!

Hope she feels better soon

Sounds like she was constipated. Lots of fresh fruit and veg and water tomorrow! I wouldn't bother with A&E.

There is a nasty tummy bug going round at the moment. My son has been saying his tummy hurts for the past 2 weeks. We have just come back from Spain so assumed it was just a dicky tum but it went on for over a week. Doc said it was probably the bug doing the rounds, apparently his nursery have had it and it lasts quite a while. He too feels better when he has been for a poo (which takes him forever to get out) Hasnt stopped him eating or causing havoc though so assume he is ok.

Sounds like she had an impacted poo problem caused by reactive constipation - it's quite common particularly if she had a tummy upset last week - which could have been mild and passed unnoticed by you.

DON'T rush to give her a lot of soft fruit as it can cause spasms in the bowel - lots of fluids and eating normal food is good, but if she gorges on grapes etc. you could make the problem worse over the next couple of days.

Stewed apples however contain pectin which settles the bowel and encourages it to make good binded poo without causing bloating/gas.

Next time, get her to sit on loo whilst she rubs her tummy and you read a story. Usually helps my LO when he has a sore tum.

Failing that a warm hot water bottle on tum helps too if she won't stop crying.
