Can you just chuck the wee wee from the douwnstairs potty in the kitchen sink or is that a completely horrifying idea?!

I would... if DS1 ever weed on a potty that is. Not like you aren't going to clean it afterwards (I hope...).

MamaG · 03/07/2008 12:50

I chucked it down the drain outside the kitchen door and then poured boiling water after it [clean freak]

hairtwiddler · 03/07/2008 12:51

I chuck it on the garden. Good for the plants!

I wouldn't personally. Far too much wee going down there. Also the sink would need scrubbing afterwards so it doesn't really save time does it?

ChopsTheDuck · 03/07/2008 12:52

ewww! Sorry but no!

hairtwiddler · 03/07/2008 12:53

although suspect compost heap would be better!

GordontheGopher · 03/07/2008 12:55

I thought that was a myth that wee was good for plants? My guinea-pigs killed my lawn with wee!

OP posts:
TheProvincialLady · 03/07/2008 12:56

It accelerates the compost making process GTG and wouldn't actualy come into contact with the plants.

TheProvincialLady · 03/07/2008 12:57

Oh I see what you mean. I thought it was bad for plants if put on direct - it would scorch them surely?

GordontheGopher · 03/07/2008 12:59

Aha I shall tip it in my new green cone then if I can be bothered! What about POO?!

OP posts:
hairtwiddler · 03/07/2008 13:00

Probably right! Not many plants in my garden though and if it kills weeds all the better! Will switch to compost, it needs some help.

TheProvincialLady · 03/07/2008 13:01

No GTG, you definitely musn't put that down the sink

GordontheGopher · 03/07/2008 13:03

What, not even if I squish it down the plughole with my fingers?

OP posts:
Egg · 03/07/2008 13:03

Nope. No poo down the sink. You don't want to have to push it through the plughole [boak]. Only poo permissable in sink is if it is from a leaked nappy and is liquid and you need to rinse off the majority from the clothing before throwing in the machine.

Egg · 03/07/2008 13:03

X posts GTG [double boak].

GordontheGopher · 03/07/2008 13:04

Um... I was joking!

OP posts:
Egg · 03/07/2008 13:08

Tis ok, I know. Just wanting excuses to type [boak].

My three DC did nine poos between them on Tuesday . Just thought you might be impressed with that. All still in nappies too...

Bumdiddley · 03/07/2008 14:07

GtG - ds has just started using the potty in the kitchen. I was going to ask DH if he chucked it in the sink (we have a double one) Last time he weeed (sp?!)in the potty I fished a nappy out of the bin and soaked it up with that!!!

Not that ther's much wee going in the potty...

luckylady74 · 03/07/2008 14:14

I did this a few times, but I know it's wrong really - I did use to aim very carefully at the plug hole and then slosh anti bac cleaner down. However, the potential to splash clean dishes/ anything really with wee is vile. My twins were really hard - I would come across potties with wee in shoved under the table!

Under no circumstances tell your mil or mother!

motherinferior · 03/07/2008 14:21

It's perfectly OK. Urine is a sterile fluid.
