Which disposables are the best?

I currently use Kushies reusables during the day and tesco's own brand for bedtimes. Tesco has just delivered my shopping and guess what - they had no nappies!!!! I now need to go into this pathetic excuse of a town and buy some.... which are best. i only need to get one pack because im hoping tesco's one will be back in stock at the end of the month.... advice welcome! BTW DD is 6 months old.

Without doubt in my opinion the cien aircomfort maxi play nappies from Lidl are the best disposable ever.
This is no good if you don't have a lidl nearby.
They are wonderful nappies. Better IMHO than pampers or huggies or any shop own brand.
They contain the wee and poo better and have a great fit, and have a wetness indicator all the way round.
And I don't work for Lidl!

Lowryn · 31/01/2005 10:23

And they work out at about 10p each

jessicasmummy · 31/01/2005 10:24

we do have a lidl!!!! other than lidl's we have a boots, safeway and somerfield.... OH WHAT CHOICE!

any more recommendations???

as a stroke of luck, i had some pampers money off vouchers delivered today... went to town and bought pampers active fit - never used these or huggies before, so hoping they will be ok.... i can but try!

tell me about it!

as is said, i use reusables during the day, but they are useless at night... i think jess saves all her wee wee for night time because the morning nappy is full to bursting!

roll on next week - am i pg or not?!?

Pampers Active fit were perfect for DD. I guess it depends on the 'shape' of your baby, IYSWIM ! I found that normal non flexible disposables left red marks like they were too tight on her skin and yet still leaked [confused emoticon]. The active fit ones were much more flexible and had a more variable fit so they didn't gape.

MistressMary · 31/01/2005 12:22

We have active fit, no problems with them as yet.
Haha, you got the choice we have here JM!

oatcake · 31/01/2005 12:22

depends on your criteria of 'best'. best for me (my conscious) was the environmentally friendlier version from sainsbury's (nature boy and girl nappies).

they were aborbent enough, not as well fitting as the less EF brands, but he never had poop up his back, down his legs etc.

Another consideration is that they aint the cheapest at £5.65....

lockets - in some ways i do - going off bacon like i did with dd - feelign sick and tired ALL the time.... felt tired with dd, never sick. I just dont know! Bought 2 pg tests today - feel it may be a tad too early to test!!!

i find reusuables better at night. when dd2 wakes up if i dont get a chance to change her b4 her morning wee, then it drips all down her leg in disposibles, no matter what brand we use. reusuables contain better for her.

have you tried tots bots?

MistressMary · 31/01/2005 12:27

Blimey you are lucky! We got kwik save, Somerfield, Small Sainsburys and Iceland.
Small Boots, Small Woolworths and Peacocks.
Three charity shops, two cheap shops and 17 takeaways.

MistressMary · 31/01/2005 12:28

huggies or tesco were the ones we used the most.

hippi · 01/02/2005 14:50

Always pampers - new born, active fit, pull ups and baby dry for night times. No leaks and only 1 nappy rash!
