anyone know of anything original.

girlie would be nice but not essential.

she's already walking and started saying a few words. good a shape sorting, but got a few of those already.

How about asking for money? She's one so will find as much fun playing with a creal box as anything else. If you ask for money you can then use it later when she needs something.

yvonnek · 01/07/2008 16:02

they wouldn't do it, they would say yes then buy something i don't need anyway. same goes for vouchers if i ask for them

tried these options for her xmas when she was only 6 months.

still got a load of mince.

ask them to buy presents and then donate them to a children's charity or a children's hospital ward, that way they get to go shopping and also give to someone who actually needs the present.

Books & CDs (nursery rhymes etc). Clothes.

We got DD a charm bracelet for her 1st birthday and add to it every year - maybe they could do it in one hit!

yvonnek · 01/07/2008 16:10

i would say clothes if i could trust them to buy nice clothes. asked for next vouchers for ds's xmas one year. only one person got them

my in laws are italian. they all wanna bring back italian stuff (which is always tiny compared to stuff over here) and obviously i can't exchange as it's in italy.

We bought DD a wooden rocking horse with a back to it which was lovely - of course she never lied the bloody thing though It was made by Pintoy and could be used from as soon as they can sit up, then you take the back off and it'll do them until they're about 3.

That's the exact same one, Knickers! I've lost the screws that attach the back - shame as DS would love it now

Seeing as its her first birthday, you should ask for champagne for you, seeing as you gave birth to her a year ago!

Mamas & Papas rocking caterpillar, she loves it, but not in a nice sit on it way, she likes to see how fast she make it go without it tipping over!!! (she is two now though!).

yvonnek · 02/07/2008 21:24

hmmmmm

thinking i like to go for a soft rocking thing.

gotta be low and girlie.

ds has lots of bigger plastic/wooden ones. she's desperaste to go on them, but she's no fear and flings herself all roads.

we're having an alice in wonderland fancy dress party. will be serving something alcoholic to get the adults thru the day as pain free as possible so no need for champagne.

lol
