Appropriate for a 14 year old girl

Can anyone validate us by agreeing that this Halloween outfit is not appropriate for a 14 year old girl for a Halloween house party? Child says we are being unreasonable as her other friends are allowed to wear similar clothes/outfits.
she has also stated that she won’t wear the gloves and take the whip if this allows her to wear this outfit.

Perhaps not but I'm guessing the teen needs some funds to actually buy the outfit and therefore parent cooperation and agreement is needed.

My teens would pretend to not really care about others' opinions but secretly they are listening. Perhaps not happily listening but at least some of the opinions and their reasons do go in. It's called parenting.

Maybe we should be saying it is so cool and hip that she will look amazeballs at her little disco! That will put a teen off anything. In short, not appropriate and strange that she thinks the gloves are the issue. Leggings and a leotard are just about acceptable for catwoman

Not remotely appropriate, I'm not sure I'd believe her when she says her friends are wearing similar- where on earth is she getting the money? Boots like that are £150 at least even hire you would be looking at £50-£70 plus deposit.

To be fair you can probably buy the whole set off Shein or Temu for £7.50.

I mean…I look at it and think it looks like an unreal costume. BUTTTTT then I realise that if my 16 year old niece wore it I would be 1) worried about her safety, 2) wondering why she needs to dress sexy rather than scary, 3) as much as I think I’m chill and my body my choice, I would very much be trying to police it.

It’s not going to be a good look for a 14 year old, but would I have tried to get away with it if I were her age now, probably

It isn't appropriate but I would 100% have worn it at that age!

I was all hot pants, cropped tops and stripper heels at that age! I looked awful but wouldn't be told.

If all the other girls are wearing something similar she might want to be different, but as said I doubt they are. Get her a really horrid Zombie costume with big teeth and lots of blood, maybe not. That costume looks more like going to a dominatrix party far to sexualised for a 14 year old.

I understand why she would want to, I mean I would be like mentally saying whyyyy you’re young you don’t need to.

I mean, at 16, you can get married, and you probably have an amazing figure. Why wouldn't you flaunt it while you've got it?
