Hi I’m looking at what bath seats you would recommend for a baby that’s 14 months who is now pulling themselves up on everything and is pulling themselves up in the bath in their bath seat.

would you recommend the on I’ve attached thanks? Xx

I wouldn’t put them
in a seat, get a non slip mat for the bath and let them splash away

jonahpops · 13/08/2026 19:14

I just get in with them. It keeps them safe and I get a wash too!

As above, non slip mat, being right there (obviously) and if they want to stand up, that's fine.

I can't remember when we got rid of ours but I think it was more baby than toddler.

These types of bath seat are death traps and have caused multiple babies to drown. Just use a non slip mat for them to sit on and be next to the bath at all times to support them if they start to slip. There is no need for a bath seat since you cannot ever leave them alone in the bath safely even for a minute anyway.

Non slip bath mat and encourage them to sit down. We stopped using a bath seat when confidently sitting up maybe 7 or 8 months

Do they have a disability? I can’t see a reason a child this age needs a seat. They need a non slip mat and close supervision. It’s common for the to want to stand up - you can manage it by being very close/ holding them. You the. Encourage to sit down. Give them a splash with a jug while they’re stood up. It’s quite a quick phase usually! They get bored and will start to stay seated.

They are not recommended by any safety experts. So I suggest you just get a bath mat and do it the old fashioned way ...just watch him / hold him or her.

Tbh that's what I did too. Lovely bath time together and much safer for them.

You don’t need anything except close supervision. Maybe a non slip mat if you like but they’re not a necessity. Mine were just in the normal bath without anything from as soon as they could reliable sit.

We just let our toddler stand in the bath. He’d consider a bath seat like that prison and would scream. He’s been pulling to stand in the bath since well before a year and I think has only slipped once and that was just falling on his bum. We don’t even have a non slip mat either.

As others have said, just let them sit in the bath and stay next to them. You can get toys that suction to the side of the bath, this might hold their attention and encourage them to sit for a bit longer! 🙂 But it's okay if they stand, it's part of how they learn.
