How can I gently manage my four-year-old's constant loudness at home?

Hi, I’m looking for advice on how to navigate a situation with my four (and a half) year old daughter. She is the middle child of three girls aged 7, 4 and 1. She is so kind and emotionally intuitive, always sensing if someone is upset and needs a bit of extra care. She is also a naturally very loud person. She loves to sing and shriek at the top of her voice. Her normal talking volume is almost a shout. With having a one year old in the house, we often have to remind her to try to be quiet, but I fear we are dampening her spirit. I try to remind her gently, not to wake her sister, but she forgets, and I admit I sometimes lose my patience. I’m looking for advice on how to handle this gently, whilst also being realistic about my baby needing a nap.

Have you had her hearing checked? This sounds unusual for a child at her age to be as loud as you describe.

Oh god no, it’s absolutely not unusual. I know so many kids like this. Drives me insane.

OP my 4 ½ year old isn’t like this, but all kids can be a bit loud at times. If he gets too excited and starts shout-talking about something I calmly say “that’s too loud for me, I can’t understand you when you talk too loudly.” I just cut right across him and don’t let his voice rise any louder because I refuse to listen to that. Some kids I know are just constant with it but their parents must have a different tolerance level than I do.

My 3 year old has a volume control. If he's being loud I "turn his volume down to 5".
It works for about ten seconds then goes back up.
The permanent solution seems to be too wait until they are about 6 years old.
