If it's very large and very heavy, how can she pull it on herself?

Could you get it wall mounted, is it a flat screen?

I'd keep it as low to the ground as you can on a low cabinet, so it would fall to the ground as appose to fall from a height on top of her IYSWIM ?

Anyone got any tips about how to quell an instaiable interest in electric cables for a ds of similar age?

Honestly, whever you are, whatever distractions you provide he will crawl off like a heat seeking missile to the nearest plug.

Firm No's, removing from scene etc. all futile. He just crawls back again.

Have you a coffee table you can put in front of it? Thats what I've done in the past when a lo wouldn't stop touching the tv.

my ds1 (now 2) always stood right in front of the tv and would touch it/bang it/etc. 9 didn't mind him touching it really but it was a prob when we went to anyone elses house who did mind.

we've (mostly) solved it by accident really.
we bought him a small chair - for camping, (haha only been once) - and as our sofas were too high for him to climb up when he was smaller we brought the camping chair into the living room. it's now his tv watching chair - drinks holder and all (for milk i hasten to add!!)

if he doesn't sit nicely in his chair the tv is not on/we pause the programme.
it's working so far...

wasabi: they grow out of it. DS LOVED cables, now he just puts the power lead back in the laptop if it falls out. Try duct taping some of the cables to the wall/carpet if you're worried about the sockets. In fact, duct tape everything in your house

Re: the tv: move it? She'll get bored eventually

like this
we got a lion one that's not there anymore, will have to get ds2 one at some point i guess...

Can she play in another room?
Otherwise at her age it's a case of constantly doing the things you're doing, people who say parenting is tough are right!!
Distraction is the best thing...10 months is so little that 'No' is a little too high an expectation to achieve.

We bought a TV cabinet from Laura Ashley. When the TV is off, it is shut away.

We have a rug in front of the TV. Every time ds went up to the TV, we would pick him up, put him on the rug and say "stay on the carpet". After several weeks of doing this consistently, he would start to move back to the carpet himself if we said "on the carpet please".
