Risk sticking to pants or go safe with pull-ups

Baby GoodBits has been out of nappies for about three weeks now. All going well, bar a very few minor accidents.

However we are flying long haul at the weekend and I was wondering whether to put him in pull-ups for the airport/flight etc. Obviously i will still take him to the loo when he asks to go. But if there is a delay or a queue for the loo he won't be able to hold it.

At the same time he is doing so well I don't want him to 'regress'. He is still in nappies for naps and nights.

I would go for the pull ups - they'll be quite long periods during taxiing/takeoff/landing/turbulence when you won't be able to get to the loo at all, and of course theres always the bit of being blocked in by trolleys or a big queue.

As long as you make every effort to get him to the loo on time, and do things like encouraging a wee before boarding, and emphasise that the pull ups are just in case, I'm sure he'll be fine. last thing you want is wee all over him, you and your seat !

They always say be conistent but I agree with cmotdibbler - a long haul flight doesn't leave you with a choice but to use pull-ups. This might not be suitable for a flight but I read about a new disposable potty the other day - a cardboard one that comes flatpacked. I'm definitely going to get some for the car.

Thanks guys. We were having this discussion at home and Mr. Goodbits was saying pull-ups and I was saying that once he's out he's out.

So you have put my mind to rest, and as ever Mr. GoodBits is right Pull-ups it is.
