Hello,
I know no one newborn is the same as another and that books on newborns are generic for this reason but I am curious as to other parents' experiences: my 2 week newborn generally sleeps for 3.5 hours at a time and is awake only for feeding (1 hour at a time including a nappy change). I use the awake feeding time as the opportunity to chat with her, coo at her, sing her songs, show her black and white pictures as I change her nappy and make loads of eye contact all as she feeds and then if wind is not a problem then she gets drowsy after the feed and I put her to bed.
When can start expecting more awake time from her so we can play more after a feed.
I am not anxious, just curious.
