Would you be concerned about this unusual nappy poo colour? *[pic included]

warning - photo contains poo in nappy. Just seeking general advice.

Second poo like this today, he’s not in any pain or discomfort. Nor does he have a fever, being lethargic or yellow eyes and skin. He’s eating and drinking normally so I don’t feel that worried other than the colour. Not asking for a diagnosis just wondering if anyone else may be concerned. Help would be very appreciated please. I’ve spoke to 111 and they didn’t seem too concerned but I did the worst thing and googled it now I’m panicking. Thanks

How old is baby? I’ve seen all manner of poo colours with my DC but generally, nothing to worry about. Have they eaten anything out of the ordinary or new in the past couple of days?

lucyj89 · 18/06/2026 22:43

My little one had poos like this every now and again. I used to worry too after googling it but it would always return to normal colour. I would monitor for a couple of days.

He is 16 months old. And nope nothing unusual. But as I said completely fine within himself so unsure what to do. X

Banana did this to my babies, not sure why but everytime they ate banana they’re poo would
be white 😅

ThisSpryDenimHelper · 18/06/2026 22:49

Really ? My baby does eat and like banana but I haven’t gave it to him in about a week but he may have had some at nursery yesterday x

it could have been something else but I remember making a connection between then eating banana and having white poos. Googling though seems like I was probably wrong.

a quick google suggests seeing a doctor would be the best bet, although without abdominal pain or yellowing of the eyes/skin then it sounds like nothing to worry about, more likely a dietary or digestive change, rather than an issue. But always better safe than sorry

Springtimeinsunshine · 18/06/2026 22:54

My toddler DGD had this a couple of months ago. After the 4th day they returned to normal. She hadn't changed her diet or anything, she was fine in herself and it's still a mystery. Give it four or five days and if baby is still passing that colour then call your GP/111, unless they develop a fever etc.

If nursery use a lot of Sudocrem on my child, it makes their nappies look chalky.
