Mucusy poo.....any advice?!

My breast fed DS2 (12 weeks) often has mucusy/stringy poo (sorry!!), and occasionally it's green too. Any ideas what this could be? Should I mention it to HV?

I think there's no harm in mentioning to your HV next time you see her. BF baby poos can go through a rainbow of colors and textures.

sounds rather normal to me but def ask HV if you are concerned. Green can be down to a bit of wind or colic but is pretty unavoidable at times I think. Unless it has a strong unpleasant smell then you are probably fine.

Sounds normal to me, too.

Has he got a cold?

Apparantly if they cough and then swallow it comes out the other end.

Green can be a sign of too much fore-milk but could just be a greedy eater!

Ok, thanks for the reassurance, just don't remember DS1 being the same! DS2 is quite colicky though so I'll put it down to that!

Oh dd1 had this and was colicky. Could be coincidental, but when I went dairy free it cleared right up. When we moved her onto cows milk at 1 year, it came back. She is lactose intolerant.

Might be worth going dairy (milk) free for a week or so to see if it helps?
