My 7.5 month old rolled off the bed this morning and then tipped themselves out of their bath seat and bumped their head on the tiled floor.

He cried both times and was fine after a cuddle - but twice in about 4 hours! 😭😭😭

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Have you taken him to be checked over? My DD banged her head on our tiled bathroom floor when she was roughly 16 months, straight to A&E with her, you can never be too careful with head injuries, especially in very young children.

They may cry and be fine afterwards but could still have a minor skull fracture.

Gosh I’m so sorry. You just can’t take your eyes off them at this age unfortunately.

Don't worry. It happens! Now you know that you've entered a new mobile phase and can adjust expectations around where they can be safely stored!!

You don't need to take a child to A&E every time they bump their head!

At school he bumps head at least once a week

Catlady880 · 31/05/2026 16:52

Thanks everyone. He’s been alert, happy, napped normally and pupils all fine. He actually didn’t hit his head falling off the bed and landed completely on hands and knees, it was more the shock for both of us and then the fact he then managed to tip in his seat hours later than really got to me.

definitely entered a new stage of mobility very quickly which I am adjusting too. Might have a little climber on my hands. Boys will be boys.

Same thing happened to me when I had my GS , he rolled off the couch and bumped his head. I was told that hospital is only a necessity if the height was more than five feet (unless they’re bleeding or get an egg)
