Is your toddler still needing the buggy?

We are at the stage where he doesn't want but it's needed when out and about. Nearly 2.5 now so gladly still have it for naps and relaxing. But it can be a battle!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Mine were mostly done with it around age 2, but I went on taking one on longer outings until around age 3 (so handy for water bottles, jackets etc, I really missed it for a while when the youngest stopped needing it!)

If depends on the child really, my eldest didn’t use it much after 2.5.
Youngest more like 3.5 but only wanted it for afternoon school pick up for the eldest. I used to just stick her in the buggy because she was getting tired by that time of the day and I couldn’t be late because I was persuading a grumpy toddler to walk.
They are handy for carrying all the stuff on days out

My daughter doesn’t need her buggy to walk but we still occasionally use it for an afternoon nap.

She hates the thing. Apart from when her baby sibling went in it and all of a sudden it was like we had rehomed a much loved pet.

DD is just 3. We use it for long days out when she might nap (she doesn’t always, now) and where, as PP says, we want it mostly for coats and bags.

We’re going away in the summer and will probably ditch it after that.

Ha ha, I laughed out loud at this. 😊

Depends on how much they need to walk. If you drive places, then do shorter distances (which us what we did) or can go at toddler speed you can probably start going without

If you take a toddler on school runs twice a day, or foot is your predominant mode of transport, its probably a bit early.

With our oldest it was about 3.5 as we had a 1 mile preschool run and he was totally shattered at the end of the day and actually napped on the way home!
Youngest it was more like 2 or 2.5.
I think the best age was about 2 onwards as you could take them shopping in it then kick them out for the way home and strap the toilet roll pack/milk bottles/bulky items in😆

Both my dcs loved the buggy and never objected to sitting in it at all. They also both napped until school age (and beyond, at weekends) so we let them use it as it was nice to have a break in the day and still be able to continue with long trips out. We don't have a car so otherwise they would just fall asleep standing up without somewhere to sit down. We used to take it to visit museums and leave our bags and coats piled on the buggy in the buggy park (for free) whereas if we used the cloakroom there would be a charge for each item!
