New Eco Bumbles...has anyone tried them?

and what do you think?

I've just bought some from Easy Peasy's ebay shop and hoping I haven't made a rash decision, but it was only £13 for five of them so I thought it was worth a punt!

are they the ones you stuff? Im on look out for some newborn nappies for dd4 due in october.

lackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2008 21:50

That's them.

I thought they'd be good for a newborn as they won't be too bulky without any stuffing and will probably be OK considering the amount of changes required by a newborn every day. Then they can be stuffed as baby gets older.

They seem really good value for money, especially as I have oodles of inserts already for my DD's pocket nappies.

I think they'll be fab. I used bumbles without the insert as newborn nappies and they were lovely and trim. I then boosted with kushie boosters (thin 3 layers of flannelette) on the outside, then various other boosters on the outside before using them with the official booster in them IYSWIM

lackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2008 22:03

I've already bought a load of bimbles but didn't realise they did these or I would've just bought these instead and saved money.

Still if the five I've got work out, I'll get more after the bimbles are too small.

DA, it made perfect sense

Can someone explain the difference between the bumbles and bimbles?

MrsBadger · 21/06/2008 22:16

I thought they sounded great - I have a full complement of Bimbles (secondhand or BooCoo sale) so I haven't bought any, but if I were starting from scratch I'd be very tempted

MrsBadger · 21/06/2008 22:18

Bimbles are sized with a fold-out booster and are overlocked on the outside

Bumbles have a popper-out booster and are seamed with the edges on the inside. They were originally BTP but they now do sized ones too.

lackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2008 22:18

bimbles are the newborn version of the bumble that are teeny tiny and have a fold out booster for quick drying. They can be boosted as well if required.

bumbles are bigger but can be used a birth to potty and have a separate (not sewn in) booster and a pocket for stuffing....i think anyway. Never used bumbles.

aha...believe Mrs B as she has some

OP posts:
4andnotout · 21/06/2008 22:20

Oh i need to look for some btp as dd3 will only be 13 months so will be easier to take one style of nappy out with us for both dd's. Thanks everyone for explanations.

lackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2008 22:27

eco bumbles from the ebay shop

Gosh, 4andnotout....13 months age gap! I thought I was being brave with a 17mo gap.

and do I take from your name that have two older ones as well?

OP posts:
CarGirl · 21/06/2008 22:29

They are the same price direct from easy peasy £3 each no postage charge if you spend £5 or more

lackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2008 22:39

It makes you wonder whether they are shooting themselves in the foot with these. If they are good, will anyone want to spend double that on bimbles?

mind you, if you were starting from scratch you'd need to buy something to boost them. I'm just lucky that I was gifted 24 fuzzis inserts and have a few other inserts around as well.

OP posts:
4andnotout · 21/06/2008 22:40

Yes i already have 2 other dd's, they are 6 and 3
Im having next year off from being pregnant though!

MrsBadger · 21/06/2008 22:42

but having to assemble them like a pocket and then having to use a wrap as well is more hassle - I'm so lazy I prefer bimbles to bumbles as the boosters never come unpoppered and get lost in the wash.

And nothing can beat a size 0 Bimble for cute value...

lackaDAISYcal · 21/06/2008 22:46

oooh, I know Mrs B. Mine came last week and I sat and stroked them for ages . DH thinks I've either lost the plot or the pregnancy hormones are getting the better of me. men..they know nothing

I was distraught when DD outgrew her bimble.

OP posts:
MrsBadger · 21/06/2008 22:48

so was I - to the extent that I bought another set in size 1 (despite all my economical intentions to go straight on to BTP Bumbles)

suwoo · 21/06/2008 22:51

The bumbles are good, I use them at nighttime stuffed with the insert and a terry square or the insert and 3 microfibre cloths. The only downside is they are huge! I can't see how they could be described as trim. I use bambineo bamboo nappies in the day and they are as slim as disposables. DS is 24lb and 18 months.
