Anyone want to start a PhD / support thread?

Hi Ellbell

It's on Local Economic Development. I'm halfway through the dissertation stage and thought it would be best if I did finish it despite leaving work to be a SAHM. Trying to squeeze in phone interviews for the survey part is somewhat difficult with DD (19months) and DS (11 weeks)

Tis also deeply deeply tedious.

Pagan - hi sounds like you are doing brilliantly, keep it up!

I'm miserable. I've moved the PC so that I can do more work whilst DS is sleeping, but I've done a total of 2 lines this week. I'm so knackered. I wish DS would sleep. I wish DH wasn't on call so much. Arrrrgghh And I've only got half of the intro to do before I submit. I wish I'd made a final push in those last weeks of pregnancy instead of lying about.

Just a sign-off message to say GOOD LUCK to everyone, especially Highlander.

Call in the cavalry (friends, relatives, temporary nanny?) for a day, a week or a month, and you will be amazed what you can achieve. Get them to keep little one occupied, make DH his dinner, and give you some SPACE and TIME.

I worked all thru Feb & March without one w/e off, and thought that I was about to die from PhD-awfulness but I FINISHED and it is so done and dusted that I am even signing off here for good!

Above all, don't self-flagellate, that will only make you feel guilty and frankly, in a year's time when all this is behind you, it will feel like such a short time and so irrelevant!

So best of luck everyone,

PhDMumof1
