Baby vomiting during weaning and struggling with milk and porridge timings

Hey I have been weaning my boy for about 3 weeks now just on purées and porridge the last 2 days he has been throwing up while having his puree and porridge and I just don’t know what to do he is poorly at the minute so could it be that? I’ve texted my health visitor but no reply, also really finding it hard to find the right time when to give him his porridge as iff he has it before he refuses his milk and iff he has his milk before he’s full and doesn’t want any puree or porridge😩

How old is he? It sounds like maybe he’s not ready for weaning?

Food is supposed to be fun at the beginning stages of weaning. Just a mouthful or so to get used to new textures/tastes/colours is fine. How much are you feeding him if he's throwing it up?

Agree he might not be ready. Aldi might have an allergy. I started mine off on banana then when I was sure that was ok, a couple of purees. You have already introduced several different foods. If there's any allergy it's easier to work out what is causing it if you just introduce one thing at a time. Maybe back up a bit until you've talked to someone.

I had very similar when mine wasn’t well. I put it down to illness. I stopped and tried again when better, so Maybe just give him a few days off / try again when he’s better :) leave a few hours between milk and solids. At this age he will probably only be having a teaspoon or so at a time… it wouldnt be a full meal

He is 6 months old and he shows all signs that he is ready

Sounds like he isn't ready can you go back to breast feeding or bottle feeding until he is well again. Also don't put too much pressure on yourself with weaning, both my DC were awful and a doctor said if they try ine meal a day you are winning. When they are sick, they won't adapt to new things. Hope he gets better soon.

Yeah I’m going to give him a break until he is better and then we can try again I think it is because he’s ill but Thankyou so much

Maybe consider much smaller quantities. Porridge can be really filling if it’s proper porridge. Or maybe just give him some veggies and fruit that he can hold and explore (cucumber/ banana) rather than seeing him as getting his calories from food at the start of weaning?
