Anyone else feel sad as their preteens leave childhood behind?

Anyone else feel sad that their preteen kids are through their proper childhood years and the next stages are teen and adulthood and all the seriousness and anguish that comes with that?

They even look so different, carry themselves differently, and no longer have the wide eyed innocence… it goes so incredibly quickly.

Luckily I also have a 2 year old so I get to experience it all again.

How do others cope?

I hear you. My eldest 2 are 14 and 12, I feel like this a lot. BUT although I sorely miss the little people that they used to be (and they don't remember being!) I love seeing them turn into amazing young adults. I love knowing nothing about their poo, and having no responsibility for it. I love how independent they have become. And I love the conversations we have, now that they know more than me about lots of things now. 100% miss them as babies/little kids, but no way would I turn back the clock.
