Is this a definite autism sign? My 9 month old keeps doing it, has been for some time

Perfectly normal baby behaviour. It’s only a concern if they are regularly doing it as a toddler and even then it wouldn’t be a concern in itself, only if there where other comcerns.

Aw, my ds2 used to do this, especially when he was all excited in his high chair waiting for food - so cute! He’s 16 now, absolutely no sign of ASD so from my very small sample of one I’d say no.

It is age appropriate behaviour. If you get to 18 months and it’s prevalent then think about it again. But try not to stress. Ive got 3 autistic kids and my second showed signs from very early and no one would listen to my concerns so young, it kind of impacts the enjoyment of your baby. With my third I knew he was autistic but did nothing about it till he hit age 2 then I got him on the wait list for assessment, it was a much better feeling to think ‘if he’s autistic that’s what he is nothing I can do right now so will just enjoy this time’

My son did this a lot. He is autistic (high functioning and generally the most amazing teen)
