Recommendations for mineral sunscreen suitable for a one-year-old in the UK

Does anyone have any recommendations for mineral sunscreen for my 1 year old daughter please? I’ve done lots of research to reach the conclusion I should use mineral not chemical sunscreens for both my daughter and myself, especially as we try and lead a very natural lifestyle. But I’m finding it very tricky to find a sunscreen I feel comfortable using on my daughter as barely any of the big brands sold in the uk do a mineral version. It’s super frustrating so I’m asking for help! I have considered moogoo, as that came recommended and chicco baby mineral sunscreen from notino. Tia!

We used Badger for my one who used to react to suncream.

That said, as someone who now has melanoma because I had parents who were funny about suncream when I was a child 🙄, I’d use the most effective one you can find. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a chemical suncream if you aren’t allergic to them and a good factor 50 with good UV A&B coverage offers good protection. By all means, use the mineral ones, but they are not easy to apply so you will need to be very fastidious with keeping the coverage on.

Thanks so much. So sorry to hear you have melanoma. And you raise a very fair and important point! I’m paranoid about absorption of chemicals via skin into blood stream (as I am with most skin care so I barely use any to be honest!) but I think avoiding skin is definitely paramount. I will do more research and reconsider chemical sunscreens, so thank you for your comment 🩷

Shade is absolutely brilliant. If you want to use a mineral sun block you do have to accept they will have a white sheen on them! We use it in the middle east and it works very well.

If you want a good one for your bag then Nivea Kids and Babies Sensitive SPF is also excellent.
