Best nappies for preventing leaks and blowouts in a larger baby!!

Hi all!
I'm looking for some serious advice on suitable nappies that stop poonamis!
My DS is almost 10 months old and is weighing about 11.4 kgs. He's on the higher end of the height and weight chart and currently in Size 4 nappies.
I am currently using Pampers nappy pants size 4 (red packaging)
He's a breast fed baby so still having a lot of soft yellow poos and almost every time he poops ( which can be multiple times a day) he explodes though the nappies up the back and out the sides and I'm getting sick of numerous changes a day and stained clothes!
Can anyone suggest any other nappies that might help???
Please help me!

It COULD be that his nappy is a bit big? If there's too much space it can be as much of a problem as when there's not enough.

It's been a few years, but I liked the Hofer (Aldi) ones called MyLove (we used to call them Tough Love because they were so much cheaper than Pampers).

The game changer for me was when someone pointed out I was tucking the "frills" in - frills out helps prevent blowouts (I don't know if everyone else knows that though? Maybe I was really stupid not to realise...? )

It also has to with angle at the time of the explosion (lying down, it flies out the top at the back. Strapped in the car seat? Flies out of the leg holes.) Not all blowouts can be prevented...

On the other side, could it be that the nappy is too small? My baby went into size five when she weighed less than yours does now (probably at around 10.5+ kilos, but I can't remember). I know that's below the weight given for that size, but she has quite a wide bottom and the size fours didn't cover much.

It’s a bit of a commitment but would you consider reusable nappies? I never once had a blow out as they are fully elasticated at the waist and legs. I also haven’t had any trouble with wee leaks now that I’ve got a brand that works for me but will acknowledge I struggled with wee leaks initially.

Ive tried the Aldi nappies and they didn't work. I actually found them worse. I was talking to my childminder and she's told me to try nappies and not nappy pants- so I'll see how I get on with them.
But thankyou for your advice 😀

Peaches, relatively new nappy brand

I find with the Pampers pants you have to make sure the undercarriage is fully pulled out once they’re wearing it, as sometimes when putting it on the gusset can fold in on itself?

Try size 6 and see if it makes any difference. Mine were in size 6 at that weight. Ignore the weight guidelines and size up until no more blowouts - it might work for you too

If full reusables is more than you want to consider, you can use a reusable nappy cover over a disposable, and that should stop most blow-outs. Yes, you'd have to wash the covers when they get poo on them, but that sounds like a lot less washing than you're doing currently.

My baby is pretty much the same size as yours and we had to go up to size 5
