My DD father has an overnight stay once per week and EOW contact (fri-mon morn as he drops her at school).
On his mid week over night he finishes late and gets his girlfriend to collect my daughter. Am I being too sensitive to think….. just finis work early once per week to spend time with your child?

It depends. How late is he? If she's in bed for 7, he gets in at 8 and gf drops her off to school it's pretty pointless.

If gf gets her at 3, Dad is home by 5.30 for dinner together, he does bed and drops her at school next day, I'd say it's fine

Yanbu but you can't force him to do this or to be a better parent more generally. So I'd just ignore it if I were you

I believe it is a good mix. He can get home around 5:0-6:30 I believe. I like my daughter to bed early but I think he has her up quite late at his (she’s knackered when I collect her on a Wednesday evening, but that’s his choice when he has her I can’t control that)

Well you can think what you want there is nothing you can do about it

Is he 'working late', or finishing at his normal time? Presumably for him to pick her up from school he'd have to actually finish early, not just leave on time?

YANBU if he's choosing to stay beyond his contracted end time on the one evening he has her, YABU if he would have to leave early to get her. Lots of work places wouldn't/couldn't allow the flexibility to just leave early, and even using annual leave you'd probably run out quite quickly!

Sorry I should have mentioned he is self employed

Not your problem. As nice as it would be but it's his days and times to do as he pleases.

Why are your early responses on threads often so bloody snarky? Do you get a kick out of responding like this straight off the bat?

Unfortunately you can't make him be a better or more present father.
