Can we please start a thread with good parenting advice and why you believe it to be good?

Every stage is a phase. Made the newborn days much more comfortable, makes the toddler tantrums bearable!

If the advice is helpful, use it. If it's not, discard it with a smile and a "I'll bear that in mind".

You have to parent the child you’ve got. - What yor child needs in terms of support and teaching is very individual to them.

They’re not giving you a hard time, they’re having a hard time. When it’s a stressful situation it can difficult to focus on you’re child’s point of view but that’s often really important to working out how to solve an issue.

Do not compare or judge other parents!

Think early about what kind of humans you want to raise and create your parenting style to facilitate that.

Tip for surviving the newborn days - as a couple, try and let go of anything annoying that your partner said or did between the hours of midnight and 5 AM. Don't throw it back in their face the next day or pick a fight about it.

Basically, sleep deprivation is a total bitch and competitive over-tiredness makes it worse. Honestly just try and be kind to each other and you'll get through it.

Children don't come with an instruction manual. Just get through each day the best you can x
