Have you seen ADHD affect confidence in yourself or your child?

I’ve been reading a bit lately about ADHD, and something really stood out. It’s not always about ability at all. A lot of it seems to come from years of small things adding up. Missed deadlines, being told you’re not trying hard enough, and feeling things more intensely than others expect.

Over time, that seems to chip away at how someone sees themselves. What surprised me most is how much of it is described as learned rather than something you’re born with. The idea that confidence can be rebuilt, once the experience is actually understood.

It made me think about how many people might go through this without ever realising what’s behind it.

Has anyone here seen this play out, either in themselves or their kids?

Do you mean ADHD can develop or the lack of confidence?
If it is the lack of confidence I agree. If I had known as a child I have ADHD then I could have been kinder to myself.
