Are Pikler climbing sets worth it for a 19 month old?

I have a 19 month old climber. Would you recommend the pikler climbing sets? They seem odd, but very popular on Instagram. I'm worried about safety, I imagine you'd have to hold on to them all the time? I already have the climbing cushions but they're too easy for him now.

Anything else anyone recommends?

I want him to climb on something other than the furniture 😂

This child has been walking and running since he was 10 months. We go out AT LEAST twice a day.

And yes, he does get told not to climb and he does listen. But I'd just like something to tire him out without me having to go out constantly!

Space is not an issue.

If space isn't an issue. Very long lasting.

Tell me you didn’t ever raise a climber without telling me you didn’t ever raise a climber😂

Actually DS climbs for the county, he was an excellent climber from about 9 months of age, which is when I started to institute the "we don't climb in the house rule, also no balls inside- he is also an excellent footballer" these are just outdoor/ in approrpiate spaces pursuits.

I had one for years when I was a childminder, several of our children were like mountain goats and were climbing up and over the triangle long before they could even walk!
My youngest DGS is 13 months and his parents bought him one for his first birthday and he absolutely loves it, worth every penny I would say 🙂

Both mine were climbers, I got a big Dunster house/plum type wooden climbing frame thing for the garden that had far more shelf life than pikler which are really just for toddlers.

we got ours when our daughter was 18m, she’s now 7 and still goes in it when I get it out for the 2 year old! I’ve not hovered since the first day tbh. She also likes to cover it in blankets and go under and pretend it’s a tent!

Absolutely! Got DC2 one for her 2nd birthday and only just thinking about selling it on now, 8 years later. It has been a climbing frame, a den, a house, a cafe, a castle. And folds away behind the dressing up box.

Had waaaaay more use than the garden climbing frame/ slide/ swing set.

Similar to @Flushitdown we got one at 9m and she could climb it then. She’s 8 in a couple of weeks and it still gets used

I hear you. Some kids have just got to climb something and not all of us have enough free time to spend 90% of our waking hours at a playground, or near a big pile of rocks etc,

Both ours love it. We rarely put the slide bit on though
