Child scar - experiences please?

My 2 year old fell over while toddling 4 weeks ago outside. Annoyingly he must have caught his nose on a piece of gravel or woodchip as he got a scrape pretty much the length of his nose. It was definitely superficial and I kept it moist and clean. Annoyingly it appears to have healed with a bit of an indentation. It’s much more obvious in certain lights but it’s definitely there. I’m really worrried this is going to get worse as he grows and it’s such a prominent spot on his face. I’m still really shocked such a seemingly minor injury has scared. Does anyone have experience with a scar like this to the nose? Did it get worse/better with time? Thank you x

I reckon the yellow bum cream for nappies is really good for getting rid of things like that. Technically only licensed for bums that really effective on minor bits like that.

It doesn’t exist anymore!

I don’t think that will scar. Be extra careful with suncream this year.

Silicone cream (or tape but at that age cream is probably best) massively helps scarring and as pp said be sure to use spf.

Some children are just much more prone to scarring especially from the superficial type grazes - one of my twins scars terribly from the most shallow grazes/ takes months to disappear - her twin is the complete opposite. Her doctors have commented on it since her chicken pox scars are particularly prominent - she had to have surgery to her face around age 2 and they decided to change where they would do the stitches because of it

My 2yo split his head open (I could see his scull). The wound was about 15mm long. He’s nearly 5 now and I can barely see it. You certainly wouldn’t notice it if you meant him. Kids heal very will, don’t worry about it, it’s nothing.
