Swim nappy on holiday question

We are due to go away with our baby who will be 8 months. We have only taken him in the pool on a uk trip where only a swim nappy and costume were required. It was also only for about 15 minutes in the water.

We are going to lanzarote where I know the pools can be cold so he has thicker fleecy costume. My question is would we be best to use a swim nappy and a happy nappy under the wetsuit or would the disposable swim nappy be suffice underneath? He hasn't pooed in water yet but this could be a first. Also I have seen others saying they just rinse and dry out the disposable swim nappies. If this works how many would you say to bring for 2 weeks? If I can avoid bringing the whole pack that would be brilliant.

I live in a warm country so we go to the pool a lot. I don't use the disposable swim nappies, we use the fabric reusable ones and they're fab. I'd say buy 2 or 3 and you can rinse them and, if he poos in them, throw them in the washing machine. Never had a leak.

We’ve only ever used a disposable or reusable swim nappy and then swimming costume on top. Bambio Mio do great reusable swim nappies; looked on Vinted. You can just rinse and reuse. And realistically you won’t be in the pool for that long, then you’ll change them. If you can get a few reusable ones, then take a few disposable as well.

Huggies have reusable swim nappies too, larger Boots stores have them.

Definitely use a happy nappy, and then something underneath it. The disposable/washable ones aren’t enough to contain a lot of solids if it happens. The neoprene ones are also good UV protection.

Also check the hotel rules, many only allow children in nappies in the splash pad and paddling pool.
