tax exam yesterday - crap. answered all questions but everytime I think about it, I remember another question and realise I got it wrong.

financial accounting today - worse. I had a discrepancy in my balance sheet and so worked on finding it, but ended up with very little time on the other questions, didn't have time to finish one.

failed both (no need to tell me I haven't!!) and feeling very demoralised.

SOrry to hear that you think they have gone badly. Exams at an older age are a killer - I am nervous as hell and it makes me panic and forget obvious things. But on the positive, they are LOOKING for marks to give you and you never know you might scrape a pass. It is easy to remember parts you have missed out after the exam - but if you got in the basics you will pass!

Good luck x

elf -hugs...givepeas right -its one of natures law that you only think of what you did wrong and remember more and more bad things as time goes on. Also those exams are draining - you are not going to be thinking straight (and if you had a bit of a cry abotu it you would be quite normal - I always did afterwards).

you don't lose that many marks if balance sheet doesn't balance (mine never did -in fact I rarely added them up).if you didn't finish one question that

Tax exams are notoriously shit - don't forget you only lose marks for the bits you get wrong, you can still get marks if you're just following the logic

And if its any consolation I sat in one of my exams thinking I will not cry (it was a total horrible paper on an area that didn't understand) but still did ok.

Are you hitting the chocolate and wine in a big way?

I walked out the exam and though I could either go home and cry, or go for a coffee with a work friend, and then go home and cry
Not cried yet, am watching Robin Hood film with my mum, I'll cry like a baby when I speak to DH tonight (he is working away)

forgot you were poorly elf - did doc give you anything to help? that is probably not helping you any nor dh being away.

but seriously - I do think its better sign to think of what didnt go so well than being super confident.

I popped into work after my coffee with my work friend, there is a big list of queries, so they have missed me at least!

DH back on Fri, hopefully not going away again for a while, but possible back for three more weeks, hopefully not!

doing exams and doing your job well are not entirely related elf so you should take heart from fact you are missed . Hope your dh is home for a little while on friday
