Congestion/Cold 5 month old

Not panicking too much as I have a very smiley, happy baby who’s still babbling, playing etc. She is congested & has a little cough (I’m full of cold myself) it’s been about 3 days now & I have used the nasal applicator for the snot which has worked great for getting the crap out. However she is breathing a little heavy (maybe due to the nose?) & being slightly fussy with feeds. She had a viral infection when she was 6 weeks old & doctors weren’t great as I can appreciate they isn’t much you can give them, I was told kids have many of colds etc and fight them off on their own, but has anyone got any tips?

Humidifier in the room where she sleeps keeps everything softer and easier to run out. That young I didn’t use any essential oils etc but other than that you’re doing everything you can.

No tips, just solidarity. It's so exhausting when they're sick so young. Calpol for fever/headache, saline solution for nose and the snot sucker. Humidifier, depending on where you live.

My mum used to drive me crazy, constantly telling me to take DS to the doctor as there MUST be SOMETHING they can give to a baby with a cold. FFS. She's from a country where they hand out antibiotics like candy so she was/is extremely annoying every time my DS catches something.

Calpol do a plug in vapour plug that’s really good for helping with congestion overnight. There’s also some vapour drops by snuffle babe that do the job with hot water if you prefer that way.

If you use the saline spray right before feeding them (I bf but assume it must work with bottle feeding too) then it helps clear their noses out as they breathe thorough their nose when feeding so will blow the snot out.

If they have a cough then we tilted the cot a bit but that’s against safe sleep advice.
