Easter gift ideas for 8-year-old boy who doesn’t like chocolate

Has anyone got any ideas for Easter gifts please for an 8 year old boy who doesn’t like chocolate and who we don’t want to just give sweets to? We usually buy our kids gifts and a small chocolate egg/sweets alongside an egg hunt but this year I am struggling to think what we can get for him and am overrun with ideas for our little girl. No books as he got lots of them for Christmas, and something he will use all year not novelty Easter stuff. Thanks in advance for any ideas

Put "gift ideas for 8 year old boy" into the Amazon search bar. I always use that for ideas for my own kids.

My friends has a child that doesn’t like chocolate, we did an “egg hunt” with Babybels once. There are several varieties.

Lego sets are always a favourite in our house

I've got a kid who doesn't like anything sweet at all. I go buy a big plastic egg and fill it with things they do like, easter themed usually - stationery, erasers, stickers, small toys, crisps.

Home Bargains/Poundland/B&M is good for this. If you can't find a big plastic egg there Hobbycraft do them. Or use a basket

Is he into figures - like Spider-Man, Batman, Star Wars, etc? He might have the main characters, but there are always minor characters….

Our DGC (aged 5 and 7) and great nephew (aged 11) are always impressed with DCs’ (now all grown up) range of figures!

Night Vision Goggles
I bought my 7 year old Nephew a pair for Christmas, he loves them, always out on an adventure with his Dad to see what they can see

Our egg hunts were for plastic eggs that I put Lego figures in.

Spring time potion kit from Hooded Owls. My DS9 loved his Christmas one so much I’m tempted to buy him an Easter one too

isn't the answer always "lego" for 8yr old boys? ;)

Some kind of outdoor toy, maybe?

Boil some real eggs with dye to colour them.
Then use textas to add patterns and pictures.

You could bring some for the children to add the final decorations.

I was going to recommend puzzle or game books. Those may be nice to help him focus on ideas away from screens and to keep him quiet on trips.

Thanks so much for all these suggestions, only just seen them all tonight!

I should add that he doesn’t like Lego, he’s also not a cheese fan @IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads although that did make me chuckle! He’s nearly always out playing football and not massively into screens, etc. He doesn’t like puzzles @HoppityBun but thank you for the suggestion, we had a wentworth puzzle before and they’re beautiful quality!

I found some Haribo mini Easter sweet bags today so will do a hunt with those in the little plastic eggs. Also ordered him a new tracksuit which I know he will love, a shorts version of one he has and am about to order some eggs with little fidget toys in (tat really but I know he will love them!). He loves a good family games night so think I might get a game somehow loosely related to Easter, carrots or bunnies or something!

Thank you for the night vision goggles suggestion @CheeseAndBiscuitsAndCakes - that is definitely going on the stocking filler list, we get lots of badgers and some foxes and deer round us so I’m sure he will love them.

I'd go for something "egg shaped" so it still feels Easter-y. Maybe a Bakugan, they look like little eggs, or Lush do fancy bath bombs if he doesn't mind the scent.

Does he have any favorite teams or characters ir maybe musicians? You can make a poster calendar with their pictures or could be photos of his friends and him if you have them in high res!

Also not exactly a gift, more like a game idea, but you can an Easter themed slideshow with questions an answers (think quiz type) and play with your kids. They'll need to answer the questions and each correct answer will get them some amount of points, then they'll get small prizes. Could be stickers, crayons, pens, hair accessories for the DD, fidget toys for the DS, etc, just something small yet cute. Could even be a play date with their friends and it'll be a bigger game then. We did it for our niece for Christmas, the kids loved it and we got them glowing stickers as prizes.
