Nothing biodegrades in landfill babyjjbaby - its an anaerobic environment esp if locked nice and tight inside a nappy sack - stick to your cloth! Weenees do the same thing btw.

babyjjbaby · 17/06/2008 19:38

oh right just that it said it was more enviromentally friendly than disposibles i'll stick to reusables and the odd sposie what about them as reusables

As resuables I assume they work like the weenees with the pad and pants - haven't ever bought any from mothercare but the weenee micorfibre pad was good but the fit on the inner pouch was shite and ds2 just simply wee'd out the side! We took them on holiday once with the biodegrabale pads and we soo many leaks esp when he was squished into his car seat on the longer journeys.

I use cloth all the time and we are off to cornwall in july and am dreading using disps as theya lways leak and we end with more washing than at home without the normal washing facilities

Ooooh bit of a rant there!

oh right they loked a bit like bambino mio but the wraps had like a elasticated bit for the pad to fit in i find sposies ok i still use a few but prefer cloth especiaaly seeing them all on the line blowing in wind

Haven't tried them myself but a friend recently tried them on her DS and said they were rubbish. She's using Little Lambs now.

babyjjbaby · 17/06/2008 20:13

I tried them and they are rubbish. Interestingly, I wrote a fair but negative review for the Mothercare site and it never got posted....hmmmm!
Anyway, I got a trial pack when my son was about 4 months old and they leaked. All the time. He could only wear it for about an hour before it leaked onto his vest. Like Octo said about Weenies, the bit holding the pad would shift to one side and he ended up peeing directly onto the wrap.

However, if you really want to try them, you can have my wrap and pad. I think they are size medium.

mambach · 17/06/2008 20:37

I did the trial for them and found them at first to be quite leaky, but later on I tried them again and found them to be the easiest nappies to use. Only going through 3 a day, (pads and wraps) Not great at night although you can buy disposable pads to go in the "cradle" part. I bought more recently from the Mothercare website, and still really like them. Each to their own I suppose, but also depends on your little one too!

hens mum how much would u want for it thanks

They are more reliable than weenees as they have a deeper pouch and gussets - I did a trial between the two .

Mothercare aren't exactly cloth nappy experts but hey, at least they are trying eh? (and subsequently putting vast numbers of parents of cloth forever)

babyjjbaby · 17/06/2008 21:52

haha i am just addicted to trying differant sorts and makes lol

HensMum · 18/06/2008 08:12

Oh you can have them babyjjbaby. He's outgrown them now anyway and I doubt I'd use them on any future baby as I really didn't like them, so they're just taking up valuable space that could be taken up by other nappies. Let me have your address and I'll get them in the post as soon as possible.
