How do I get my DD6 to fall asleep independently

My DD is turning 6 soon. Up to now I've laid with her until she falls asleep and then go sleep in my room and she (mostly) stays the night in her room. I'd like to get to a point where I could read her a bedtime story and leave the room.
I know I've made a rod for my own back but any suggestions are welcome it's not an urgent situation I'd just to work towards having her fall asleep independently.

Following as my nearly 3 year old sleeps with me and I need to get her in her own room and own bed. It’s blooming difficult isn’t it? I understand how you feel!

We started phasing this out when DD turned 5. We bought her a projector and I took the SIM card out of an old phone and downloaded Audible so she could listen to guided sleep meditations after I left the room. I started off by waiting until she was sleepy but not asleep and saying I was just going to pop to the loo and would be back in a minute, and often she would fall asleep in the few minutes I was gone. Now I just read the story, put on the meditation and projector, kiss her good night and go, and we've got it down to her only calling for me to come back/ adjust her pillow/ bring her a glass of water around 74 times.

We’ve just done this with our 3 yr old with a sticker chart and pure bribery - a toy of her choice if she managed 10 nights. We weren’t particularly hopeful but it worked.

DD1 was easier and with her we sort of gradually left eg “I’m just going to the loo, I’ll be right back” and then come back. Then “just need to nip downstairs and bring the washing up” “just need to put some washing away in my bedroom” “just have to tidy the kitchen up” and gradually lengthened the amount of time we were away for.

Audiobooks, books, toys, drawing. At a point, probably between 6-8, I could just leave them to do whatever in their rooms. They crawled into bed and put themselves to sleep when ready. If necessary, I’d pop in and turn the light off on my way to bed.

She’s 6! Just tell her! Ok story and cuddle then night night. You’re way overthinking this
