No pointing, waving or clapping. They can crawl and sit but no desire to cruise or pull to stand, let alone walk. They can shake rattles etc and hit things with their hands to make a sound, but just smile at you when you clap and don't try to copy.

They are otherwise very sociable, lots of smiles and laughs, responding to name, very good fine motor skills when playing with toys and eating. They've recently started passing toys to us.

They'll be one in less than a month. Anything to worry about?

Nothing to worry about.

All the websites say rubbish like ‘the typical baby waves at 8 months old and says a first word by 10 months, if not then contact your doctor’ etc. 2 children in, a lot of baby groups attended and I can confirm it’s absolute rubbish.

Both of mine did absolutely no gesturing or talking before 12 months, when they randomly said their first word and pointed. DD never waved really, DS did at 14 months (I remember it was well after 1st birthday).

Before this there was zero sign and I remember posting on here about it the first time round a bit worried. They’re 6 and 2 now and totally NT, very talkative etc

Btw the passing toys at this age is just as important. Thats very definitely communicating.

Not necessarily anything to worry about. A little behind with gross motor but he’s so young and babies develop at their own pace, he could easily catch up in the next few months. Have you got his one year health visitor check booked in?

It seems you are talking about one child. Do you think the advice will be different if you use he or she?

They are smiling at you when you clap. This surely means they are enjoying you entertaining them? I got rid of the wonderful weeks app when it said things like baby might try putting their socks on. Well at 7 youngest still has no interest in socks!

No there’s nothing to worry about.
