Hello!
im trying to find a mattress suitable for my 17m old new floor bed ( double). He’s currently in our bed everynight and im trying to get him to stay in his own room hence the double floor bed in there. I’m due my second in October and if my toddler isn’t sleeping through by then I imagine the three of us will be all in the bed together so I need a mattress suitable for toddler&newborn and comfortable for me too! There is so many out there but I struggle to find unsponsored reviews and just want it to be the safest possible for my little two.

I co slept with my toddler until my baby was born in October. All attempts to get him to sleep in his own room had failed.
When the newborn came home from hospital he was in a next to me crib and the toddler in the bed with me - within a week my toddler chose to sleep in his own room and has slept there by choice with no crying at any point for the last 4 months now.
I guess he wasn’t keen on the newborn crying and waking him up!

I hope it’s that easy for you too x

The safest place for a newborn is in a next to me crib next to your bed.

The safest place for a toddler is in their own cot or bed, preferably in their own room so they're not disturbed by the new arrival.

Anything else is making a rod for your own back.

We just have a firm IKEA mattress in our toddlers floorbed.

I really would make every effort to get them into their own bedroom now though. Cosleeping with a toddler and newborn sounds like absolute hell and not restful for anyone.

Floor beds sound awful; why would you want to sleep on the floor!?

You don't. It's just a very low bedframe and mattress. A very popular option for toddlers right now.

How is this any help at all? Why waste your time

We have Simba mattresses in everyone’s room. We co-sleep with 10mo and 4yo (sorry, not reassuring! 😂) comes in during the night. 2yo happily sleeps in her own bed though so you might be lucky.

How is it any help?

Myself and others are trying to warn you away from pursuing this path. Nobody is going to be happy with it.

But if you're insistent on following it, against all logic and professional advice, then go ahead.

I’ve asked for mattress recommendations not any advice on how to raise my children 🤣 did I ask for any sleep training advice? Did you read that on my post? Go parent your own children and leave me alone! :) if you don’t have a mattress recommendation this post isn’t for you!!
